Our Cita con la Danza is a showcase where young dancers and choreographers, as well as prestigious professionals meet and bring the best of their productions so that Classical Ballet, Contemporary Dance, Spanish Dance, Flamenco and Fusion can be shown to an attentive and sensitive public that even the rain has never stopped.
This year once again, due to the collaboration of Terpsicore, the vice rector for culture of the Jaime I University, the Riba Danza Association, the CAM “Obra Social” and the Cultural and Youth department of Benicasim Town Hall, we are able to hold the 3rd edition of “Fragments of 20th Century Masterpieces” workshop.
20 young dancers will learn a fragment of “Purcell Pieces” by Nils Christe, a well known Dutch choreographer whose choreographies (more then 70) are in the repertory of the most prestigious European, Canadian and Australian Companies. He has generously ceded the rights.
The workshop will be held at the Violant de Casalduch Institute of Benicàssim.
Diego Brichese and Pilar Martí both dancers of the Dutch company INTRODANS and Patsy Kuppe-Matt, guest teacher at the Stuttgart Ballet, the Vienna Opera and other prestigious companies will be responsible
for the preparation and presentation.
The workshop is free and young dancers who have an adequate technical standard and would like to participate should send their personal details, telephone and email, a photocopy of photo ID and a recording of their dancing without special effects before the 31st May 2008 to:

For this year in collaboration with the Castellón Cefire,Terpsícore, Com sona l´Eso, the Youth Department of Benicàssim Town Hall and the Violant of Casalduch Institute of Benicàssim, we will also be holding a ‘Corporal Percussion’ Course. The Course is directed by Javier Romero Naranjo, and will take place from the 7h to the 12th July from 9.30 to 14.30h., is free and offers credits for teachers. Inscription can be made on the web of the Cefire of Castellón.
In Barcelona and in collaboration with ‘La Companyia’ directed by Elise Lummis, Roger Jeffrey, a dancer with the New York Metropolitan Opera House and choreographer among others with Mikhail Baryshnikov’s “White Oak Dance Project” will make a new creation for pre professional dancers which will be shown for the first time at the X Cita con la Danza Fib.
