Theatre, in the broadest and most inspired sense of the word, continues to grace the streets, squares and beaches of Benicàssim. Every summer, under the International Benicàssim Festival umbrella, we enthusiastically celebrate FIB-actúa (FIB-act in English), a platform with an international character and voice that year after year discovers new forms of expression. Our ideology centres on recovering the most fun-loving, lively and festive significance of the theatre arts. Although we mainly stick to small-scale venues, we stress theatre that is rich in ideas and appealing to radical and demanding audiences.

We understand theatre as all-encompassing – including circus, dance, cabaret, children’s theatre, or any stage-based art that merits the title of theatre. FIB-actúa places particular emphasis on promoting and giving a voice to new talents willing to take risks and provoke while never losing sight of quality – and, as such, constantly revamping the world of the stage. In order to achieve this, we seek the complicity and involvement of the audience in each movement, each expression, and each and every moment. FIB-actúa is what we consider to be the best way to celebrate theatre and the stage arts while organising an authentic party bringing together different people with different ways of thinking and communicating, yet always eager to discover new forms of expression.
